Battery can go 5-6 hours uncharged, very good... However, battery seems to be deffective, at some point the bat, will not start up the laptop when power is unplugged even after a full night charge. I would like to receive another battery that is not deffective. If this bat wasn't deffective, it would have been a good buy...

Unlike what others described, I had no problems fitting it to my dv2715nr laptop. I am getting five hours of battery life on idle and pretty reasonable time under load. It doesn't take very long to charge, either. I don't like the battery sticking out from below, but it has not created any problems so far. Great product and, although I selected standard shipping, it arrived super fast in two days!

The battery arrived properly packaged in anti-static material, then in a sturdy box. I looked up recommendations online as to how to break in a new battery, and found that many recommended a few full charging and discharging cycles. I saw power retention rise from an initial 2 hours, to about 5 hours currently. My HP DV6000 series laptop easily recognized the battery, and the fit with the mounting is excellent. I have no issues with the added weight since I do understand that high-capacity means essentially fusing together two regular batteries in order to achieve the extended power delivery. Overall, an excellent value, so far. I'm hoping that this unit will outlast my original battery as well.

The battery functions as hoped. This is the only reason this product gets any stars whatsoever.
The battery DOES NOT resemble the original battery whatsoever. While it fits into the battery compartment, there is a just as much extra plastic that protrudes from the battery case, making it impossible for the laptop to sit flat. This makes it impossible to fit smoothly into a backpack, zipper-case, etc. My laptop now has a "hump". I guess you could look on the bright side and say it sits up a little when you're using it. But functionally, there are more minuses than pluses. I would generally prefer to use my old battery, which fits and looks normal at least, and just keep it plugged in constantly.
Buyer beware.
