Since this is a "generic" power cord for an HP Pavilion DV2000, it is definitely not of the same quality. The cord is much shorter, so you have to baby it by connecting it to an extension cord -- this lessens the stress that is placed on the cord from the weight of the adapter. My daughter purchased one a few months before I purchased mine from another seller and hers stopped working after less than six months. As this seller is not the only company that sells this type of adapter, it's not necessarily the company but the adapter you need to be aware of. However, when we wanted to return the one my daughter got, we could only get a refund if the adapter was found "defective". We didn't bother to return it, because the problem is not that the product is technically defective, but that you have to "handle it a with so much care". If you are always on the go with your laptop, you're going to need to plug it in where you can, so unless you want to lug an extension cord with you too, this is adapter might not work very well for you.

The cord became lose quickly and we had to prop or hold the cord in place to get it to charge or even work. I emailed the company to ask for an exchange and they said to mail it back. I did and have heard nothing from them. I would NEVER USE THIS DEALER AGAIN.

Tried reseating the battery, double-checked outlet I was plugged into, and made sure my original battery was still charging and working (it was.) The new battery either wasn't holding a charge or wasn't making proper contact. Hard to know which was the issue. Regardless, it didn't work. Returned it.

This battery works great! When my original HP extended life battery started showing only 67% charged as a maximum (after three or four years - a normal event, as I understand) I started looking for a replacement. The $51.95 price here on Amazon compared to the $149.99 price on HP Direct. It was a no-brainer - works just great - fits perfectly - looks exactly the same - and I'm back to 5 and 6 hours of battery life for 1/3 the price. I'd have no problem recommending this product. Thanks to Google search for the "shopping results" price comparison spot when I entered "extended life battery for hp dv6000". I continue to enjoy the same feature on this battery as the HP version - it raises the back of the laptop up for better cooling.

It was a great price, but...It kept losing connection and the laptop would shut off. Turn it back on and it shows it still has a full charge. Returned it and bought an authentic HP replacement and have not had the problem again.

I ordered this product back in may to replace the original, which like everyone elses' failed at the connection point. This one fits the laptop perfectly. If you use the included velcro strap to looped the cord near that weak point, it keeps the stress off of it. The original had the weak point, so I assume its in the design. This one doesn't overheat, and I've yet to have an issue with it.
