I was really pleased with this power supply. But be warned. The cord that attaches the power supply to the wall outlet is a bit chintzy and doesn't fit the power supply that well. That being said use the old one from your hp power supply if it is not broken or go to radio shack or walmart and buy a replacement for 3 or 4 bucks. Over all though everything else is awesome and works great. Definitely worth the money. Don't get suckered in to paying 80+ for a replacement somewhere else. Be patient order this and relish in the feeling of cheating the system of over priced replacement parts.

I purchased my battery the end of May 2009. By Dec. 2009 the battery did not work properly so I returned it for a replacement. The replacement was completely useless (computer turned off immediately when unplugged). Now they want me to pay to return this replacement in order to get another battery. Unfortunately Amazon will do nothing because their money-back guarantee only lasts 90 days even though this battery came with a 1-year warranty. How many will I have to return before I get a working battery? Trying to decide if it's worth another try after reading these other reviews.

Do not trust you will receive a non-defective battery. Search their ratings and you will see they have an abnormally high defective battery percentage and poor customer service to back them up. They do NOTHING to resolve issue other then want YOU to pay MORE money. Do not rely on just my comment, search! You will see!

I ordered this adapter to replace the dead one that came with my girlfriend's laptop from HP. The original adapter was 18.5 volts, as this one is said to be according to this page. However, after receiving the new adapter and checking the label, it states 19 volts as the output. 0.5 volts should not be enough to damage anything so I let my girlfriend use it rather than going through the hassle of an RMA. It works fine so far (little less than 2 weeks now) but according to other reviews I'm almost due for the unit to fail. I'm hoping I got lucky and this thing survives at least another year and that I don't have any of the more dangerous results that others have had. Glad it only cost me about $20 after shipping/tax but was disappointed to see that the seller misrepresented the item's voltage output.

HP appears to have a problem with power adapters. I don't know what models, only that mine in particular is a DV2000 bought at now defunct Circuit City. I've gone through several adapters, this brand being my fourth. The original adapter that came with the laptop lasted about a year. The first replacement only made it about three months before I had to start bending it to make a connection. The second replacement worked great for about eight months before getting a short and catching fire in my friend's living room.

I ordered this adapter because it had good reviews and I really didn't want to replace a laptop that was only two years old. As of the time of this writing, the product is sold by third parties but fulfilled by Amazon so I don't where blame lies. The adapter I received did not work so I immediately ordered a second one and had it shipped overnight. Much to my amazement, the second one worked fine but it is not the same product as the first one I received.

Neither of the adapters that I received have the same label as in the picture. The product is not UL listed. The second label as a bit more information than the first, the first having little more than "made in China" and that the device conforms to standards.

After looking at several other brands of replacement adapters I became fed up. Almost all have some horrible reviews that mention melting or otherwise catching fire. After having one catch fire on me, I am more than a bit skiddish about the issue. The safety of me and my family is worth than the price of a new laptop so I have ordered a new one, this time from Dell. It will be a long time before I trust HP with another laptop.

If there is one thing that Amazon is for besides books and big screens, it's stuff like this! My buddy told me his power adaptor for his HP notebook was busted. I told him to get on Amazon and find one, because if he went to Best Buy, he'd drop a Benjamin on it. He didn't believe me. Fast forward three days. He has to go on a road trip the next evening and calls me from Best Buy where it was over $100. He was in a panic. So I pulled out my iPhone with the Amazon app and found this for him. With Amazon Prime and overnight fulfillment by Amazon, it was less than $20. He went on his road trip and everything worked out great. Best part is that he actually paid me back the following week.

I purchased this laptop battery through amazon, via Northparts USA, LLC (partner merchant). Initially, the battery worked well. About 1-2 months later the battery would not fully charge to full capacity (100%). Instead it would only charge to about 20 %. I placed another battery to make sure that it was not my computer or software issue. It wasn't. I am not sure about the quality of the products from this particular merchant. I question if this is a refurbished battery. I would not buy form this merchant (Northparts) again. Amazon's transaction was flawless as usual.

Delivery was prompt and battery fit perfectly. There wasn't much in the way of documentation and I suspect it is a recycled and reconditioned battery. It will take a full charge but doesn't hold it very well. Yes, the laptop is full turned off and not in sleep mode. I have and currently use lithium-ion batteries in my cordless power tools. Hitachi to be specific. They will will hold a full charge for 6-8 months with a discharge of less than 10% after one year. The beauty of Li-ion batteries are they provide the full voltage almost to the point just before they are fully discharged. The batteries I received, while better than the 3 year old cells in my HP laptop, will only hold a full charge for a few days and then begin to lose capacity without the laptop even being turned on. I suspect some internal voltage decay within the cells which are connected in series. In short they work but I doubt that they are factory fresh OEM from Hp. The price was reasonable but short on quality.

This battery works great! When my original HP extended life battery started showing only 67% charged as a maximum (after three or four years - a normal event, as I understand) I started looking for a replacement. The $51.95 price here on Amazon compared to the $149.99 price on HP Direct. It was a no-brainer - works just great - fits perfectly - looks exactly the same - and I'm back to 5 and 6 hours of battery life for 1/3 the price. I'd have no problem recommending this product. Thanks to Google search for the "shopping results" price comparison spot when I entered "extended life battery for hp dv6000". I continue to enjoy the same feature on this battery as the HP version - it raises the back of the laptop up for better cooling.

This battery works great for my HP DV2000 laptop. After a year's use, it still keeps my laptop up and running for at least 4 hours. It easily doubles the battery life of the oem equipment on my laptop. It does take longer to charge but that should be expected with a larger battery. Potential purchasers should be aware that this battery sticks out from the bottom of the laptop about an inch. It props the back of the laptop up a bit but it's easy to get used to. It also weighs more than the oem battery. These seem to be small prices to pay for greatly increased battery life.

I am very upset with this battery because it was described as the correct one for my HP DV2000 Laptop, in fact it works but the only HUGE thing is that it is not the exact replacement. It has a big extra part that makes looks your laptop ugly, half of the battery sticks out of place so now my laptop is like an in a 35 degree angle when I put it on my desk or somewhere else. It looks really bad but since I had opened I knew I could not return so I had to deal with it. Very upset with this product.
